COMMUNITY EVENTS SCHEME $40,000
The Tauranga Kart Street Race is a Flagship Event. It is the only kart street race in New Zealand and its uniqueness is a huge draw card for drivers, supporters and spectators alike. It’s a fast 1.2km circuit around the city central streets of Tauranga with the faster karts achieving speeds in excess of 140kph leading into the 90 degree corners.
Over 5000 spectators are expected to line the city course on 6/7 November 2010 to watch some of the country’s best kart-sport racers in action. Action will be coming thick and fast with plenty of thrills and spills. Local drivers will also be featuring well at the event.
TECT granted $40,000 to the Bay of Plenty Kart Club for the event. TECT Consumers will also benefit with free entry on presentation of their TECT Card.
