The Board is made up of six elected Trustees who all come from different backgrounds. Each Trustee brings experience, knowledge and a different perspective to the decisions of the Trust. What they have in common is a commitment to make sure TECT’s decisions are in the best interests of its Consumers, now and in the future.
Role TRUSTEE, JP
Mark was appointed as Trustee in July 2018. Mark shares a vision of Healthy Thriving communities where healthy activity and connectedness are fostered for all. He brings nearly four decades of Community Pharmacy and health related experience along side governance and management roles including the Bay of Plenty District Health Board, Tauranga Gliding Club inc., Otumoetai Intermediate School, Tauranga Musical Theatre and a number of professional organisations, sports and recreation clubs, body corporate and trusts.
He recognises and appreciates the significant benefits TECT distributions enable for our community by supporting and leveraging the activities of large numbers of enthusiastic volunteers.
He and Carol came to the BOP from Canterbury in 1986 and have three adult daughters and one grandson. Carol works in Public Health, is a volunteer for Waipuna Hospice and Aspergers Connections Tauranga, and a supporter of Parent to Parent and Riding for The Disabled.
Mark is motivated to ensure TECT Consumers and their communities enjoy the full benefit of their eligibility for Trust distributions whilst paying ‘fair market ‘ prices for electricity, just as any other Trustpower Customer and shareholder around New Zealand would reasonably expect.
