TECT All Terrain Park
Community AMENITIES FUND $3.5 MILLION
TECT ALL TERRAIN PARK
As the hub site and buildings have taken shape and the roads and tracks cleared, the TECT All Terrain Park is revealing its exciting potential. 4WD groups opened up the first tracks for motorcycle use; motorsport are starting work on their hub site and circuit tracks; mountain bikers are developing a trail network; equestrian users are close to starting a trail; amongst many other user groups. The park is also an ecological “living classroom” where sites in the park have been set up to monitor the myriad of insect communities living there. And there’s more… the park is proving a great international training ground for young people starting careers in the outdoors.
Located on State Highway 36 between Tauranga and Rotorua, the park is a unique recreational venue comprising 1638 hectares of uninhabited wilderness that is a major asset for the District and has the potential to position the Bay of Plenty as the country’s premier venue for active and passive outdoor recreation.
TECT has contributed $3.5 million to the project since 2004.
"TECT Park is a fantastic example of how local Councils, in partnership with TECT can join to invest in one of the region’s greatest assets – the environment, which is centre stage as an adventure playground and conservationist jewel for current and future generations to come"
