With over 1650HA of all terrain playground, the TECT All Terrain Park is truly a unique spot showcasing everything we love about our region; a beautifully expansive environment and its many recreational opportunities.
TECT All Terrain Park was recognised this year as the nation's best park, winning the supreme award in the inaugural Best of Parks Green Flag Award by Recreation Aotearoa. And it’s no wonder why.
Adventure and Fun for All
With public tracks for walking and mountain biking, equestrian trails, an off-leash dog exercise area, a high-wire adventure course and user group facilities for a variety of clubs from paintball to model aircraft flying, the TECT Park has everything you can imagine for outdoor recreation fun.
The extensive grounds which feature pine forest and native bush also form an ecological ‘living classroom’, with sites set up to monitor the myriad of flora and fauna; perfect for school and environmental groups to explore.
A Major Asset for the Western Bay
Located on State Highway 36 between Tauranga and Rotorua, the Park was officially opened to the public back in December 2010. Since then it has provided a unique recreational venue of uninhabited wilderness that is a major asset for our district and will continue to be enjoyed by our community for generations to come thanks to its fantastic upkeep and wide-ranging facilities.
TECT Deputy Chairperson Natalie Bridges says the Park is of significant value to the region.
“We are proud to have supported this transformational project since 2004 with $3.5 million in funding, providing an adventure playground for outdoor recreation and a conservationist hub for native bush and wildlife.
“There is something for everyone at TECT Park, and it is a fantastic example of how local Councils, in partnership with TECT, can join to invest in one our region’s greatest assets – the environment.”
Whether you want to take a leisurely day out to enjoy nature or want to get involved in one of the many active clubs, the TECT All Terrain Park has it all. Plan your next trip by visiting www.tectallterrainpark.co.nz.
